Halal Centerof UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta held a halal guarantee management workshop at Adhi Wangsa Hotel, Solo, Central Javaon October 24th-26th2019. This activity is a follow up to the work meeting. The establishment of the Halal Center of UIN Sunan Kalijaga in response to UU JPH No.33 Tahun 2014about halal product guarantee. This workshop presented the Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Prof. Drs. K.H. Yudian Wahyudi, MA, Ph.D.,as keynote speaker; secretary of BPJPH of the Ministry of Religion of Indonesia. Drs. H. Muhammad Lutfi Hamid, M.A., with his speech about Halal product guarantee policy; and Head of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Halal Center, Prof. Dr. Drs. Makhrus, SH., M. Hum.As with his speech about the halal guarantee system and halal certificate.
National Standardization Agency (BSN) has conducted a survey of the Halal Center UIN Sunan Kalijaga on October, 26th2019. UIN Sunan Kalijaga Halal Center is ready to act as a certified halal examinerand currently has 3 prospective auditors with a scope of food, drink, and processed chemical industry. The Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Prof. Drs. K.H. Yudian Wahyudi, MA, Ph.D.,hopes this Halal Center can contribute significantly to Indonesia's society. The establishment of the halal center involves several personnel who are considered competent and committed to supporting the halal guarantee program in Indonesia.
Based on Halal Certification Services issued by the Halal Product Guarantee Agency(BPJH) Ministry of Religion of Indonesia the procedures for obtaining halal certification are (1) Submission of halal certification application by business actors to BPJPH with the required documents (2) Document Verification (3) Business actors choose the Halal Examining Institution (4) LPH checks and / or tests the halalness of the product (5) BPJH checks the results of examination and/or testing documents (6) Determination of halal products by the MUI through a halal fatwa session (7) Issuance of halal certification by BPJPH.
