Prof. Noorhaidi Determined to Create a Leading University with a Global Reputation and Build Campus II

The Chancellor of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Prof. Noorhaidi Hasan, S.Ag., M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D. inaugurated all Vice Chancellors, Deans of Faculties and Directors of Postgraduate Studies, as well as Heads of Institutions, at the University's Central Administration Building, 18/9/2024. The inauguration of public officials within UIN Sunan Kalijaga this time was based on the Chancellor's Decree No. 166.1 of 2024 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Lecturers Given Additional Tasks within UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.

In his remarks after the inauguration, the Chancellor who previously served as Dean at UIII, among others, expressed his gratitude and highest appreciation to the leaders for the 2020-2024 period for their dedication, loyalty, and hard work in advancing UIN Sunan Kalijaga. He also congratulated the newly inaugurated Vice Chancellors, Directors of Postgraduate Studies, Deans of Faculties, and Heads of Institutions. He emphasized that the selection of these "Zaken Kabinet" leaders was considered very carefully. He also explicates his vision as Chancellor “to bring UIN Sunan Kalijaga a leading university with a global reputation”.

Prof. Noorhadi also said that the main task of the newly inaugurated leaders is to work hard as best as possible to realize their leadership vision through various missions and programs. Prof. Noorhaidi described the proud achievements of UIN Sunan Kalijaga which has obtained various accreditations, such as 38 study programs with the predicate of Excellent (Unggul), FIBAA accreditation for 18 study programs, and recognition from AUN-QA and other international institutions. According to him, this achievement must be appreciated and used as motivation to develop further. In the future, he hopes that all study programs can achieve the predicate of Excellent and hold international accreditation, strengthening the global reputation of UIN Sunan Kalijaga.

However, according to him, all divisions need to work hard to change the excellence on the accreditation certificate sheet into real achievements in every aspect of life. This includes the field of education and teaching, which needs to be continuously evaluated, both in terms of curriculum, methods, and materials. All of these aspects must be able to equip students to face current and future global challenges.

Excellence also needs to be seen in terms of research, dedication, and quality of human resources, with one indicator being the number of scientific articles published by the academic community in accredited national and international journals. Likewise, research excellence must be reflected in the application of innovation in various fields, such as science, humanities, and others. Prof. Noorhaidi hopes that all leaders can rearrange the priority scale for various planned programs. He encouraged resources to be directed to needs that are truly essential for the progress of the campus.

In his remarks, Prof. Noorhaidi also emphasized his commitment to building Campus II during his leadership. To support this, an Infrastructure Development Center will be formed that works in line with the Institutional Development Center. One of its main tasks is to formulate priority faculties, in addition to the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Health. If necessary, he also plans to establish a Human Resources Development Center. He asked for full support so that the dream of establishing Campus II could come true. “With a strong commitment, we can definitely move forward. Good luck, may you be successful in carrying out your duties, and success to all of us!” he concluded.
