Tanggamus Goes Global, the Success of KKN UIN Sunan Kalijaga

The Regional Government Officials of Tanggamus Regency, Lampung Province visited UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta 10/June/2021. The visiting delegation was chaired by the vice of Tanggamus Regency, Hendra Wijaya Mega, S. T., M. T., M. M..

The meeting which was held at the Prof. Saifuddin Zuhri was carried out as a follow-up to the cooperation contained in the MoU text in the implementation of research, service, development, and empowerment of HR in Tanggamus Regency and Vice Rector 3 of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in 2019.

This collaboration between UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta and the Regional Government of Tanggamus Regency has been going on for two decades and can achieve excellent results through the Community Service Program. This will be expanded in other collaborations. The Regional Government of Tanggamus Regency plans to provide scholarships for five students of Tanggamus Regency who continue their studies at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta every year.

The Deputy Regent of Tanggamus Regency is also an alumni of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Through IKASUKA (UIN Sunan Kalijaga Alumni Association) it turned out to be a bridge to collaborate and get good results.

This collaboration received appreciation from the Ministry of Religion and other agencies, even UIN Walisongo Semarang also wanted to join KKN in Tanggamus Regency. KKN UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has succeeded in bringing Tanggamus Regency to the world with a digital literacy program. The students accompany the people of Tanggamus Regency about digital marketing to introduce Kiloan as a marine tourism destination that is rich in potential and environmentally friendly.

Furthermore, it is hoped that the KKN program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga can provide assistance to the development of traditional markets in terms of management and digital marketing, as has been successfully carried out in Kasihan District, Bantul. The Deputy Regent of Tanggamus Regency also hopes that the UIN Sunan Kalijaga KKN program can develop tourism assets in the Pelangi Valley. UIN Sunan Kalijaga plans to dispatch 20 students to carry out KKN in Tanggamus Regency from July 1 to August 30, 2021.

LPPM UIN Sunan Kalijaga has a community service program that is integrated with CBT (Community Based Research) research for Field Supervisors who have excellent programs. It is hoped that this program will improve human resources and the welfare of the local community in a sustainable manner.
