UIN Sunan Kalijaga Tops SINTA Rankings, Cementing Leadership in Islamic Education

UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has emerged as the top-ranked Islamic university in Indonesia, securing the No. 1 position in the Science and Technology Index (SINTA) rankings for Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN). The achievement highlights the institution’s drive to elevate the standards of education and research in the country.
The university outperformed its peers with a 3-year SINTA score of 290,693, and an overall score of 465,617. UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta followed in second place with scores of 201,611 and 391,862, respectively, while UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung placed third, recording 197,790 and 380,799.
“This accomplishment is a testament to the collective efforts of our academic community,” said Prof. Noorhaidi Hasan, Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga. “We are proud and grateful, and we will continue to push for greater strides in education and research excellence.”
The accolade signals UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s growing prominence in academia and its readiness to compete internationally. With aspirations to break into the QS World University Rankings, the university aims to solidify its reputation as a global leader in Islamic education.
