As the halal industry continues to grow and the demand for technically competent human resources increases, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has taken a strategic step by introducing vocational education in the field of halal production technology.
This step was marked by the launch of the Applied
Bachelor's Program in Halal Production Technology at the Faculty of Science and
Technology (FST), UIN Sunan Kalijaga, held alongside a National Seminar titled “The
Role of Halal Vocational Education in Supporting the National Halal Ecosystem
Toward Indonesia as a Global Halal Industry Hub,” at the 1st-Floor Convention
Hall, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, on Wednesday (9/9/2026).
This launch marks an important milestone in the
development of applied education at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The Applied Bachelor's
Program in Halal Production Technology is the first applied bachelor's degree
program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, designed specifically to meet the increasingly
complex and cross-sectoral needs of the halal industry.
UIN Sunan Kalijaga Rector, Prof. Noorhaidi Hasan,
said the launch of this study program reflects the university's ongoing
commitment to adapting to the evolving needs of society and the job market.
