The UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Alumni Family Association (IKASUKA) will hold the Inauguration of its 2026–2030 Board of Management, combined with a National Working Meeting (Rakernas), a national discussion forum, social activities, a photo exhibition, and the launch of the grand theme for an encyclopedia on alumni achievements, on Saturday (26/9/2026). The full series of IKASUKA activities will be held in conjunction with the events marking UIN Sunan Kalijaga's 75th anniversary (Dies Natalis), making the commemoration of the university's 75-year journey simultaneously a moment of consolidation and reflection on the contributions of its alumni across various fields of service.

The series of events begins with a Healthy Walk with the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Academic Community, held in the morning with the gathering point in front of the University Central Administration Building (PAU). This activity serves as a gathering that brings together alumni and the academic community in a familial atmosphere. Following the walk, the program continues with the “Tempoe Doeloe” (vintage) Photo Exhibition at the Convention Hall, along with the distribution of social assistance to the Gajah Wong Community. IKASUKA's social commitment will also be reflected through the symbolic presentation of scholarships.

Beyond serving as a forum for gathering, IKASUKA's activities are also directed toward strengthening organizational capacity. In the afternoon, the 2026–2030 IKASUKA Central Board will hold its National Working Meeting at the Convention Hall. The Rakernas serves as a forum for formulating the agenda, work programs, and development direction of the alumni organization for the new management period.

One of the main agenda items in the series of events is the National Discussion Forum (Sarasehan Nasional) themed “From UIN Jogja: Weaving Synergy for Indonesia's Future (Best Practices in Alumni Contribution).” The forum brings together a number of alumni and figures active in various fields, including Prof. KH. Yudian Wahyudi, Head of the Agency for the Development and Coaching of Pancasila Ideology (BPIP); Prof. Dr. Phil. Sahiron, Director of Islamic Religious Higher Education at the Directorate General of Islamic Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia; Dr. H. Imron Rosyadi, Justice of the Supreme Court; Dr. KH. Hilmy Muhammad, M.A., Member of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI); Prof. Dr. H. Masnun Thahir, M.Ag., Member of the IKASUKA Presidium; Dr. Hj. Nihayatul Wafiroh, M.A., Deputy Chair of Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR RI); H. Syarifuddin, Commissioner of the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS); and Ihsanudin, Director of Strategic Planning and Information Technology at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Employment Social Security Agency).

The presence of alumni active in government, the legislature, the judiciary, higher education, social institutions, and the professional world reflect the breadth of contribution made by UIN Sunan Kalijaga alumni. The forum also serves as a space to share experiences on how academic, Islamic, national, and humanitarian values gained on campus can be translated into concrete work within society.

Following the discussion forum, the sense of togetherness continues with the “Angkringan Festival Food” Bazaar in the Convention Hall courtyard. This agenda offers a space for recreation and strengthens the familial atmosphere and closeness among alumni, the academic community, and members of the public in attendance.

The culmination of the series of events will be marked by the Inauguration Procession of the 2026–2030 IKASUKA Board of Management. The inauguration procession will take place in the Convention Hall courtyard, marking the beginning of IKASUKA's new period of management. According to the program schedule, the procession is set to be led by Dr. Zastrouw Al-Ngatawi, M.Si.

Committee Chair H. Idy Muzayyad, in his report, stated that the entire series of activities was designed as a moment of alumni consolidation and the strengthening of IKASUKA's contribution.

“This inauguration is not merely a change of management, but a moment to reaffirm the bonds of alumni kinship, consolidate alumni potential, and bring about more concrete contributions to the alma mater, society, and the nation," he said.

He also emphasized the importance of building alumni networks across professions and generations.

“UIN Sunan Kalijaga alumni are present in various spheres of service. Some are in government, academia, religious institutions, business, the professions, media, social organizations, and many other fields. Our challenge is how to connect and develop this full range of potential within a mutually reinforcing ecosystem of collaboration.”

Chair of the IKASUKA Presidium, Hj. Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, S.Ag., M.Si., affirmed that the 2026–2030 IKASUKA management period must serve as a moment to strengthen alumni unity while also expanding contributions to the alma mater, society, and the nation.

“IKASUKA is a warm and productive extended home. Let us unite the experience, ideas, networks, and work of alumni into shared energy. From UIN Sunan Kalijaga we learn, from various spheres of service we work, and for Indonesia we give our best contribution. This is the moment for alumni to take pride in being part of the alma mater and to prove together that our presence can give meaning to the progress of the nation,” she added.

Responding to this, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Rector Prof. H. Noorhaidi Hasan stated that alumni are one of the strategic strengths a university holds in extending the benefits of education and scholarship to society.

The Rector also emphasized that the relationship between the university and its alumni must continue to be developed as a productive and mutually reinforcing one.

“UIN Sunan Kalijaga needs its alumni, and alumni also need their alma mater. For this reason, we need to build the relationship between the two as a productive one. The campus provides academic space and knowledge, while alumni bring experience, networks, and real-world practice within society. The meeting of the two will generate great energy for shared progress,” the Rector remarked.

The Rector further expressed appreciation for the theme chosen for the discussion forum, noting that it represents the spirit of bringing alumni experience together with the needs of the nation.

The inauguration ceremony for the 2026–2030 IKASUKA Board of Management also marks the soft launch of the encyclopedia “Mazhab Sunan Kalijaga: Merambah Kiprah dan Jalan Baru Alumni untuk Bangsa” (“The Sunan Kalijaga School of Thought: Charting Alumni Achievements and New Paths for the Nation”). This agenda marks the introduction of the encyclopedia's overarching concept and thematic framework, which is intended to record, map, and reflect on the diverse achievements of UIN Sunan Kalijaga alumni within society, the nation, and the state.

The soft launch of the encyclopedia is built around six domains of alumni contribution representing the breadth of service undertaken by UIN Sunan Kalijaga graduates: “Progressive Intellectualism,” “Impactful Politics,” “Dignified Culture,” “Bureaucracy with Integrity,” “Prosperity-Building Economy,” and “Liberating Religion.” These six themes form a conceptual framework for examining alumni contributions through the lens of ideas, values, work, and impact brought to society.

The encyclopedia is intended to present a broader narrative of alumni journeys as part of UIN Sunan Kalijaga's intellectual and social ecosystem. Alumni achievements are positioned as part of the alma mater's long journey in producing individuals with academic capacity, leadership, professionalism, and a commitment to service across various fields.

The six themes also illustrate the spectrum of contributions alumni can build. Progressive Intellectualism represents the tradition of scholarship and the production of ideas; Impactful Politics depicts alumni involvement in policymaking and public life; Dignified Culture affirms the role of alumni in preserving and developing culture; Bureaucracy with Integrity reflects service through governance and public administration; Prosperity-Building Economy situates alumni contributions in strengthening the economy and social welfare; while Liberating Religion affirms the role of religious values in building a life that is inclusive, civilized, and oriented toward the common good.

Through this series of events, IKASUKA reaffirms its commitment to building an ever-stronger alumni network while delivering broader contributions. The spirit of “From UIN Jogja: Weaving Synergy for Indonesia's Future” runs as a common thread linking the various agenda items of the event.
