Chancellor of UIN Sunan Kalijagareceived a welcome visit from the DAAD Jakarta officers on Friday, May 3, 2024. They were Dr. Guido Schnieders (Director of the DAAD Regional Office Jakarta), Annisa Fitria (Head of the Science and Technology Section of the German Embassy in Jakarta), and La Budza (Program Officer for Scholarships and Alumni Program DAAD). This visit was made to strengthen cooperation between UIN Sunan Kalijaga and the DAAD Jakarta Office, as well as to share information about DAAD's prospects for continuing study scholarships in Germany.

In a meeting in the Chancellor's room, Dr. Schnieders thanked the Chancellor of UIN, Sunan Kalijaga, for welcoming the Jakarta Office DAAD team. Dr. Schnieders added that DAAD serves as a bridge for UIN Sunan Kalijaga to work with German universities in areas such as student mobility and academic collaboration. Aside from that, Ms. Fitria is a representative of the German Embassy in Indonesia. Dr. Schnieders and Ms. Prof. Al-Makin responded positively to Fitria, believing that strengthening cooperation and offering information on scholarship-based further studies is a practical method for achieving campus internationalization.

Following the meeting, the DAAD team and the Chancellor visited the UIN Language Center Theatrical Building to discuss studying in Germany and DAAD scholarship prospects. The program was conducted by Dr. Asih Widi Wisudawati, a FITK lecturer and University of Muenster (Germany) alumni. Attended by UIN Sunan Kalijaga students and teachers, the participants' enthusiasm for studying in Germany and DAAD scholarship options was evident during the question and answer session.

Dr. Schnieders' visit to UIN Sunan Kalijaga ended with a friendly meeting and dinner with the Chancellor, university leaders, German alumni lecturers, and the International Office team at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. (Public Relations Team)
