YOGYAKARTA – Universitas Islam
Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga celebrated its 74th Dies Natalis with a lively fun
walk on Saturday (20/9/2025), drawing more than 4,000 participants to the
courtyard of the University Administration Center. Lecturers, administrative
staff, students, alumni, retirees, and their families joined the event,
creating a vibrant show of unity and school spirit.
Rector Prof. Noorhaidi Hasan
officially opened the program, describing the anniversary as an opportunity to
express gratitude and reflect on the university’s long journey in advancing
scholarship, spirituality, and social service. He emphasized that the fun walk
represents more than recreation, serving as a collective commitment to
environmental sustainability, healthy living, and stronger community ties with
university partners.
The celebration featured hundreds of
prizes, including household appliances, electronic devices, gold, electric
bicycles, and two grand prizes of motorcycles. Inclusivity remained a key
highlight, with students with disabilities taking part in the walk. Among them
was Putri Ramadhani, a deaf student from the Early Childhood Islamic Education
program, who received a door prize and expressed her hope for continued support
that enables all students to excel and participate fully in campus life.
Adding a digital dimension, a video
reel competition captured the day’s excitement, encouraging participants to
share creative content on social media. Beyond entertainment, the event
reinforced UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s mission to foster togetherness, strengthen
campus pride, and enhance its reputation as an inclusive and globally engaged
Islamic university. (Humassk)
