UIN Sunan Kalijaga's PPID Accelerates Website Development, Strengthens Innovation and Public Information Services

UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta continues to strengthen its commitment to delivering public information services that are transparent, easily accessible, and innovative. Through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on PPID Website Development held on Monday (13/7/2026) at the Meeting Room on the 3rd Floor of the General Administrative Center (PAU) Building, a range of strategic steps were formulated to improve PPID services while preparing for the 2026 Public Information Transparency Monitoring and Evaluation (e-Monev KIP) assessment.

The FGD was attended by the entire Public Information and Documentation Officer (PPID) Team of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, including the Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI) as the PPID companion body, the Public Relations Team, and the Center for Information Technology and Data (PTIPD). The meeting forms part of efforts to strengthen public information transparency governance, not only to meet compliance standards, but also to deliver an ever-improving service experience for the public.

The Chair of the UIN Sunan Kalijaga SPI, Dr. Shaleh, who also serves as PPID companion, affirmed that the challenge of running the PPID this year is no longer merely maintaining the Informative status, but also delivering innovations that have a genuine impact on service quality.

“This year the challenge is greater. Whereas before we were working to achieve the Informative status, now the question is how to maintain it through various innovations, while also ensuring the completeness of data at every implementing PPID unit,” he said.

Innovation, he argued, must be built systematically, from the provision of information and the strengthening of services, through to improving the quality of the website as the primary face of UIN Sunan Kalijaga's information transparency services.

The forum also discussed a number of service strengthening measures, including the preparation of a PPID helpdesk mechanism. Among the alternatives discussed were the optimization of front office or reception staff as information service officers, and the involvement of part-time students specifically assigned to the PPID helpdesk.

The team also agreed on the importance of presenting real-time statistics on information requests through the PPID website, displaying monthly developments in information requests so that the public can openly view the performance of public information services within UIN Sunan Kalijaga.

The forum also addressed the implementation of 17 PPID innovation action plans prepared as part of the strategy for the national public information transparency evaluation. These innovations form part of the commitment to strengthening service quality while increasing public participation in accessing information.

Meanwhile, the SPI Secretary, Syaifullahi Maslul, outlined the stages of PPID website improvement that will be the focus of work in the period ahead. Various aspects, including interface aesthetics, menu navigation, ease of link access, and more user-friendly information presentation, will be continuously refined so that the PPID website can deliver an ever more optimal service experience.

These FGD forms part of UIN Sunan Kalijaga's commitment to continuously building open, accountable, and public service-oriented governance. Through the synergy of PPID, SPI, PTIPD, and the Public Relations Team, this website development not only fulfils the e-Monev KIP assessment indicators but also delivers public information services that are increasingly responsive, transparent, and adaptive to the needs of society.
