UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta's commitment to strengthening public information disclosure governance was reaffirmed through the participation of its Public Information and Documentation Officer (PPID) Team in the Kick-Off and Socialization of the 2026 Public Information Disclosure Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev), organized by the Central Information Commission (KIP) on Wednesday (8/26/2026).

The hybrid event was held at the Abdulrahman Saleh Auditorium, RRI Building, Jakarta, and was attended online via Zoom Meeting by hundreds of public bodies from across Indonesia, including UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.

The 2026 KIP Monev covers 385 public bodies as evaluation subjects, comprising 48 ministries, 49 state institutions and non-ministerial government agencies, 35 non-structural institutions, 38 provincial governments, 60 state-owned enterprises, 149 state universities, and eight political parties.

Head of Institutional Relations and Governance at the Central KIP, Dery Hendryan, explained that the 2026 Monev is designed to obtain an accurate, factual picture of how public bodies implement information disclosure, while also ensuring compliance with Law No. 14 of 2008 on Public Information Disclosure.

“Monev is not a competition, but a way for us to obtain accurate and factual data on public bodies' compliance with Law No. 14 of 2008 on Public Information Disclosure,” Dery explained.

He noted that the 2026 Monev process begins with completion of the Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) from August 27 to September 28, 2026. This is followed by a verification stage from September 29 to October 19, 2026, then clarification, verification of clarification, public review, presentations, and finally the awards stage.

Dery also reminded public bodies about the assistance mechanism available for completing the SAQ. Assistance can be provided before a public body submits its questionnaire; once the SAQ has been submitted, the consultation process is closed in order to preserve the integrity and objectivity of the subsequent evaluation stages.

One of the updates in this year's Monev is the elimination of in-person site visits to public bodies. According to Dery, evaluation of previous cycles showed that site visits did not have a sufficiently significant impact on assessment outcomes. As a result, KIP is now considering alternative approaches to verify that the administrative data submitted by public bodies matches actual conditions on the ground.

In this context, KIP is also exploring the possibility of involving civil society and volunteers as part of information disclosure oversight. This approach is expected to strengthen the evaluation process so that it relies not only on administrative data, but also reflects how the public actually experiences information disclosure practices.

For UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, participating in the 2026 KIP Monev Kick-Off is part of an effort to fully understand this year's evaluation mechanism and scheme changes, so that every stage, from completing the SAQ through to public review, can be carried out carefully and in accordance with regulations by the PPID Team.

With this year's updated Monev scheme, UIN Sunan Kalijaga is preparing to undergo the evaluation process thoroughly, as part of its ongoing effort to maintain the quality of public information services provided to the public. (humassk)
