Time kept moving throughout PORSI JAWARA II 2026. Amid the packed schedule of matches and competitions, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta students went through their days of competition carrying one shared asset: the abilities they had prepared long before arriving at the arena.
That hard work culminated in 18 medals brought home from UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan. By the final day of the event, Saturday (9/12/2026), UIN Sunan Kalijaga had collected three gold, five silver, and 10 bronze medals.
The three gold medals came from branches that showcased the diversity of students' abilities. The first gold was won in the Men's Lead category of the rock climbing branch. The other two gold medals came from the Team Musabaqah Syarh Al-Qur'an (MSQ, Qur'anic Elucidation) and Team Musabaqah Fahmil Qur'an (MFQ, Qur'anic Comprehension) branches.
These two Qur'anic branches told a different kind of story compared to the sports arena. While rock climbing demands precision of movement and the courage to conquer a route, MSQ and MFQ place critical thinking, mastery of content, communication, and teamwork at the heart of the competition.
Five silver medals further added to UIN Sunan Kalijaga's collection. These medals came from Women's Doubles Pencak Silat Seni (Artistic), Team English Debate, Moot Court, MHQ 30 Juz (Women's Qur'an Memorization), and Men's Futsal.
Meanwhile, the 10 bronze medals came from Islamic Pop Solo (Men's/Women's), Men's Single Pencak Silat Seni, Men's Singles Table Tennis, Women's Singles Table Tennis, Team Arabic Debate, Team Constitutional Debate, Team Learning Media Innovation, Team LKTI (Scientific Paper Writing), Men's Individual KATA (a martial arts category), and Manuscript Calligraphy.
This range of branches reveals one thing: student competition does not stop at academic ability within the classroom. The stage for achievement also comes through sports, the arts, language skills, mastery of knowledge, creativity, and the ability to work as a team.
For the students who competed, each event brought its own set of challenges. Some had to maintain consistency of movement, others had to construct arguments, test ideas, memorize material, read the flow of a match, or perform before judges. All of it demanded both preparation and the courage to bring the results of their training into the competition arena.
PORSI JAWARA II 2026, in the end, became one space where UIN Sunan Kalijaga students could bring that process together with real experience.
