YOGYAKARTA, Indonesia
— UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, in collaboration with the Astra Honda Motor
Foundation, held a vehicle service and emissions awareness program in front of
the university’s Polyclinic on Tuesday, June 3, 2026.
The program, titled “Gas Aman, Emisi Nyaman! Yuk
Service Kendaraan Bersama AHM” — roughly translated as “Ride Safely,
Reduce Emissions: Service Your Vehicle with AHM” — is part of
an annual initiative under a long-running partnership between UIN Sunan
Kalijaga and the Astra Honda Motor Foundation.
A total of 120 motorcycles were serviced during
the program. Registration slots were filled on the first day, reflecting strong
interest from the university community in vehicle maintenance and emissions
reduction efforts on campus.
Event committee member Cici Finansia, S.T., M.Sc.,
said the initiative reflected UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s commitment to building an
environmentally conscious campus culture.
“This program is part of UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s
commitment to fostering a campus culture that cares for the environment.
Through vehicle maintenance and emissions awareness, we aim to encourage the
university community to take part in creating a greener campus,” said Cici, who
is also a lecturer in Industrial Engineering at the Faculty of Science and
Technology, UIN Sunan Kalijaga.
In addition to vehicle servicing, the program
included education on emissions checks, safety riding, environmental campaigns,
and motorcycle maintenance. The educational sessions were held simultaneously
at the corridor of the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Mosque.
Cici said efforts to develop a green campus
were not limited to managing open spaces or improving energy efficiency, but
also included encouraging everyday habits that contribute to environmental
sustainability, such as maintaining vehicles to ensure safer use and more
controlled emissions.
Participants received a complete motorcycle
service package at a special rate of Rp100,000, free oil replacement for
motorcycles up to 150 cc, and anti-rust coating for selected units that met the
requirements.
UIN Sunan Kalijaga said collaboration with
industry partners was one way to expand sustainability practices on campus.
Through the program, the university aims to serve not only as an academic
institution, but also as a public education space that promotes safer,
healthier, and more environmentally responsible lifestyles.
The
vehicle service and emissions awareness program is scheduled to be held once a
year as part of UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s efforts to strengthen its green campus
culture and provide practical services for its academic community.
