UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta continues to broaden the reach of its New Student Admissions (PMB) outreach through collaboration with fellow State Islamic Higher Education Institutions. Together with UIN Antasari Banjarmasin, UIN Sunan Kalijaga held a hybrid PMB Socialization event at the Zafry Zamzam Hall on the 3rd Floor of the UIN Antasari Rectorate Building, broadcast simultaneously via Zoom Meeting, on Monday (29/6).
This
collaboration forms part of UIN Sunan Kalijaga's efforts to strengthen synergy
among PTKINs while delivering broader access to higher education information
for prospective students, particularly those in South Kalimantan. The event was
attended by teachers and students from a range of schools and Islamic boarding
institutions, including MAN Insan Cendekia Tanah Laut, SMAN 1 Banjarbaru,
Pondok Pesantren Darul Hijrah, and MA Terpadu Darul Fallah Bogor.
Among
those present were a lecturer from the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Medical Study Program,
dr. Murtafiqoh Hasanah; UIN Sunan Kalijaga Admissions Team member Nurul Mar'ati
Shaleh, S.T., M.M.; the Head of the Quality Assurance Institute of UIN
Antasari, Dr. Ridha Darmawaty, M.Pd.; and the leadership of both universities.
The
Vice Rector for Academic and Institutional Affairs of UIN Antasari, Dr. Muhdi,
M.Ag., welcomed the collaboration warmly, describing inter-campus synergy as a
strategic step toward strengthening Islamic higher education in Indonesia.
“Frankly, we are proud to be invited by such a
prominent UIN, especially when the spirit behind it is one of growing together,” he said in his opening remarks.
He
added that graduates of State Islamic Higher Education Institutions must
possess both strong academic competence and religious character as the hallmark
of Islamic higher education.
At
the event, UIN Sunan Kalijaga introduced a range of its flagship study programs,
including the Medical Study Program formally opened in 2026. The Medical
Program lecturer, dr. Murtafiqoh Hasanah, Sp.S., explained that the UIN Sunan
Kalijaga Faculty of Medicine has been built around a distinctive approach that
integrates modern medical science with Islamic values.
She
noted that current health service paradigms place the whole human being at the
center of healthcare. Medical education must therefore extend beyond biological
considerations to encompass mental, social, and spiritual dimensions as well.
“Health, according to the WHO, encompasses
physical, mental, social, and spiritual wellbeing,” she explained.
As
a practical expression of this approach, the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Faculty of
Medicine develops scholarship focused on health promotion and prevention with
respect to musculoskeletal diseases, particularly among the elderly. This focus
constitutes one of the distinguishing characteristics of the Faculty of
Medicine in addressing the public health challenges facing Indonesia.
In
addition to showcasing its academic strengths, the UIN Sunan Kalijaga
Admissions Team also shared information on new student intake procedures. For
the Faculty of Medicine, the Independent Pathway selection is conducted in
three stages: a computer-based Academic Potential Test, a psychological test,
and a health examination comprising a basic physical check, color blindness
test, and drug screening.
Registration
for the Faculty of Medicine's Independent Pathway remains open, with Wave II
running from 9 to 31 July 2026 and Wave III from 7 to 18 August 2026, following
Wave I which ran from 29 May to 29 June 2026. The Single Tuition Fee is set at
Rp45,000,000 per semester with no admission fee or additional institutional
charges, reflecting UIN Sunan Kalijaga's commitment to transparency in
educational costs.
During
the same session, UIN Antasari also presented its admissions pathways for the
2026/2027 academic year. Two independent selection routes are available: the
Independent Entrance Examination Pathway and the Independent Portfolio Pathway,
both open until 4 July 2026.
The
UM Mandiri pathway uses a written examination based on the Electronic Selection
System, with the examination scheduled for 8–9 July 2026. The Independent
Portfolio Pathway is designed for applicants who have already participated in
the National Selection Based on Testing and is processed through the upload of
UTBK scores without requiring a further written examination. Under both
pathways, applicants may select a maximum of three study programs from
different faculties, with a registration fee of Rp150,000.
Through
this collaborative PMB socialization, UIN Sunan Kalijaga and UIN Antasari have
demonstrated a shared commitment to broadening access to information on Islamic
higher education. This synergy is hoped to help prospective students obtain
comprehensive information about their study options, selection processes, and
the academic strengths of each institution, ultimately contributing to the
emergence of a generation of graduates who are globally competitive,
principled, and ready to serve society. (humassk)
