UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta's contingent has confirmed its readiness to compete in the 2026 Java-Madura State Islamic Higher Education Institutions Sports, Arts, and Scientific Week (PORSI JAWARA) II. A total of 100 of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta's top students have completed by-name registration and been declared to meet the requirements in the participant administrative verification process.
This stage marks an important part of UIN Sunan
Kalijaga Yogyakarta's preparation to compete in an event that brings together
students from PTKINs across Java and Madura. The UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta
contingent will take part in 25 competition categories spanning 46 individual
events, carrying the spirit of developing student potential while also bringing
honor to the university's name.
By-name registration, completed ahead of the
August 15, 2026 deadline, involved verification of several documents, including
the Student ID Card (KTM), Study Plan Card (KRS), national ID card (KTP),
PDDIKTI (Higher Education Database) link, and an official photograph. This
verification process was carried out to ensure every delegate sent is an active
undergraduate student who meets the competition's requirements.
As a result, based on verification by the PORSI
JAWARA II 2026 Committee at UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan as of August
18, 2026, all of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta's contingent files were declared
to have Met the Requirements (MS).
This achievement reflects UIN Sunan Kalijaga
Yogyakarta's serious approach to preparing its delegation, from the
administrative stage through to competition readiness. Rather than relying
solely on individual ability, students also received mentoring and coaching
from faculty in preparing their work and competition materials.
Beyond completing participant registration, the
UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta contingent has also submitted entries for five
competition categories with a submission deadline of August 12, 2026. These
five categories were Business Plan, Learning Media Innovation, Short Film,
Islamic Pop Solo, and Moot Court.
One entry came from students at the Faculty of
Islamic Economics and Business, competing in the Business Plan category. Nur
Cahyanti, a member of the team, said their entry highlighted the agricultural
potential of Gunungkidul, reflecting the students' close connection to the
economic challenges and opportunities facing the local community there.
“For the business plan competition, we chose a
theme centered on Gunungkidul's agricultural products, and our team itself is
based there. So, through PORSI JAWARA II 2026, we hope to help raise the profile
of Gunungkidul's agricultural potential and the local economy,” she said.
This participation shows that student
competitions are not only aimed at achieving recognition but also serve as a
space for UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta students to develop ideas rooted in
local potential and deliver real impact for communities.
Meanwhile, encouraging news came from the Moot
Court category. UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta's team submitted their
competition script on August 10, 2026, ahead of the scheduled deadline. The
submission has been confirmed received by the committee, and as of August 18,
2026, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta's team was declared one of six finalist
teams, alongside five other UIN teams.
Advancing to the finals is an important asset for
the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta contingent as they continue preparing for the
next stage of competition. With all administrative and verification stages
complete, the contingent is now focused on technical refinement, deepening
their material, and intensive practice.
PORSI JAWARA II 2026 also serves as a moment for
UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta to showcase its students' strength in sports,
arts, and scholarship. With the support of faculty mentoring and carefully
planned preparation, the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta contingent aims not just
to participate, but to achieve real results and strengthen the university's
reputation as a campus that gives students the space to excel, create, and
bring forward ideas that make a real impact on society. (humassk)
