The Student Activity Unit (UKM) PIK-M Lingkar Seroja at UIN Sunan Kalijaga officially closed its 2026 New Member Recruitment series through a Meet and Greet event, held Saturday (9/19/2026), in Banguntapan, Bantul. The event marked an initial opportunity for new members to become better acquainted with the organization, its leadership, and fellow members.

The open recruitment period, running from August 20 to September 11, 2026, successfully drew in 255 new student registrants, a significant increase compared to the previous year's 161 applicants.

In this year's new member intake process, PIK-M Lingkar Seroja simplified and streamlined its selection process. As a result, students who registered were able to join as new members and take part in the organization's various activities.

The Meet and Greet was attended by 133 new members, along with the UKM's leadership team and PIK-M Lingkar Seroja's advisor, Dr. Muhrisun. In his remarks, Dr. Muhrisun emphasized that being part of an organization is not solely about producing something grand, but also about process, learning, contribution, and each member's personal growth.

“Joining a UKM doesn't mean you have to change the world right away. The success of an organization is also measured by the process and the learning its members go through,” he said.

The event was led by Ibnu Masngud as General Chair of PIK-M Lingkar Seroja, with Fithrotul Azizah serving as Event Coordinator. A variety of activities were held, including introductions of the leadership team, a presentation of the organization's work programs, a sharing session with Duta Genre (Youth Reproductive Health Ambassadors), a focus group discussion (FGD), and a gift exchange among participants.

These activities were designed to build closeness and a sense of belonging to the organization, while also creating space for interaction among new members. Through interactive activities, participants also had the opportunity to get to know one another's character and potential.

In his remarks, the General Chair of PIK-M Lingkar Seroja said the Meet and Greet marked an initial step for new members to get to know one another, and to learn and grow together within the organization.

Meanwhile, the Event Coordinator expressed appreciation for the enthusiasm shown by new students throughout the recruitment process, from start to closing event. That enthusiasm, she said, stands as an important foundation for the continuity of PIK-M Lingkar Seroja's programs going forward.

With the completion of the Meet and Greet, the 2026 PIK-M Lingkar Seroja New Member Recruitment series has officially come to a close. The addition of 255 new students is expected to bring fresh energy to the organization, helping create space for students to discover themselves, share, learn, grow, and contribute together. (humassk)
