The 2026 Third Religion, Science, and Research Olympiad (OASE III) for State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) across Indonesia, to be held at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, continues to move forward. Following coordination among PTKIN representatives in mid-October, 1,592 participants from 54 contingents have been confirmed as passing the by-name registration verification and are eligible to advance to the next round.
The
next steps include the submission of works in the research and religion fields,
as well as the online preliminary round of the science and religion olympiads,
which uses Computer Based Test (CBT) format. The deadline for submitting works
for most competition categories closed on October 20, 2026.
These
categories include Social and Community Studies, Astronomy/Ilmu Falak
(Islamic astronomy), Qur'anic Writing, Student Preachers (Da'i Mahasiswa),
Islamic Architectural Design, Technological Innovation Literacy, Halal Product
Technology and Halal Food Security, Ecotheology, and Energy Conservation
Technology. The Nanotechnology and Robotics categories had their own deadlines,
which ended earlier, on October 13 and 19, 2026, respectively.
Meanwhile,
the online CBT preliminary round for the science categories (Mathematics,
Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and for the Musabaqoh Fahmil Quran (Qur'an
comprehension competition) was successfully held on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
The Musabaqoh Qiroatul Kutub (Islamic classical text reading
competition) was held online via Zoom over two days, October 22-23, 2026.

OASE
III PTKIN 2026 Organizing Committee Chair Dr. M. Lutfi Hamid, who is also Head
of the Bureau of Academic Administration, Student Affairs, and Cooperation
(AAKK) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, explained that the competition uses several
mechanisms suited to each category's characteristics.
"There
are 11 competition categories held through prior submission of works, five
through CBT preliminaries, one through live Zoom, and one through virtual
trading during the designated period," he said.
The
smooth running of the CBT-based olympiad was fully supported by the Information
Technology and Database Center (PTIPD) team of UIN Sunan Kalijaga. In the PTIPD
Training Room in the Old Rectorate Building, 14 proctors were deployed to
monitor the exams of 206 participants from PTKIN across Indonesia. To ensure
system reliability and minimize technical problems, the organizing team also
held hardware and software simulations on October 20-21, 2026.
After
a series of competitive selection processes, participants are now awaiting the
assessment results. The announcement of who passed the OASE III PTKIN 2026
preliminary round is scheduled to be released officially today, Monday, October
26, 2026. (humassk)
