As for the brief story of the "Jam Dinding yang Berdetak" performance, it goes as follows:
The monetary crisis that hits a country has an impact on the social and economic situation of its people, including the Pattiwel family who has been living their lives for 25 years. When the monetary crisis hits, everything changes, and they become impoverished.
Thomas Pattiwel, who was laid off from his job, becomes frustrated and turns into an alcoholic. He then resorts to having an affair with a wealthy woman to get money. Meanwhile, Marrie, Thomas Pattiwel's wife, only works as a daily laundry worker. Their two children, Magda and Benny, drop out of school due to financial constraints.
In the midst of this situation, the family is filled with conflicts every day. Marrie is always worried about her family's future and becomes frightened. Until finally, Marrie's fear reaches its peak when she sees Thomas' handkerchief stained with blood due to an accident he had while he was out with his mistress.
