Jakarta, Indonesia — Indonesia’s Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar,
has emerged as the top-performing minister in public approval ratings,
according to a national survey by Poltracking Indonesia titled “Evaluation of One Year of the Prabowo–Gibran
Administration”, released on Sunday (October 19, 2025).
Conducted through face-to-face interviews from October 3–10, 2025,
the survey involved 1,220 respondents using a multistage random sampling
method with a margin of error of ±2.9% and a confidence level of 95%.
Respondents represented Indonesian citizens aged 17 and above or those who are
married.
According to Hanta Yuda AR,
Executive Director of Poltracking Indonesia, 65.7% of respondents expressed
satisfaction with the Minister’s performance — comprising 10.8% “very
satisfied” and 54.9% “satisfied.”
“In the top ten ranking of ministers with the
highest performance appreciation, the Minister of Religious Affairs ranks
first,”
said Hanta during his presentation broadcast on Poltracking TV’s YouTube
channel.
This evaluation places Minister Nasaruddin
above other key figures in the cabinet, including the Minister of Youth and
Sports, the Minister of Finance, and the Commander of the Indonesian National
Armed Forces (TNI).
Religious Harmony Tops Public Confidence Indicators
The same survey also evaluated the overall
performance of the Prabowo–Gibran administration across
several policy areas. The five sectors with the highest satisfaction levels
were:
1.
Maintaining interfaith harmony
(86.7%)
2.
Protecting diversity (80.2%)
3.
Upholding national unity (77.1%)
4.
Providing affordable education
(76.8%)
5.
Ensuring accessible healthcare (76%)
Hanta noted that these findings highlight how religious
harmony and inclusivity remain key pillars of public trust.
Within this framework, the Ministry of Religious Affairs plays a central and
influential role.
“These results reflect how voters perceive and
evaluate the government’s performance in maintaining national cohesion,”
Hanta explained.
Communication as a Measure of Governance
Beyond policy effectiveness, public approval
is also shaped by how well ministries communicate their work.
“No matter how strong a program’s performance,
if public communication is weak, the impact on public evaluation will be
limited,”
Hanta emphasized.
He encouraged ministers to combine technocratic
precision with strategic communication so that
their achievements resonate broadly among citizens.
A Momentum for Strengthening Public Service
The survey’s outcome serves as motivation for
all levels of the Ministry of Religious Affairs — including Islamic State
Universities (PTKIN) — to maintain and
elevate public trust through tangible results.
For UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, this
commitment translates into professional academic governance, broader access
to inclusive education, and research and community service
that deliver real societal impact.
Consistency,
transparency, and public engagement remain the keys to ensuring that this
positive momentum not only endures but continues to grow — reinforcing the
Ministry’s reputation as a pillar of harmony and progress in Indonesia’s
national life.
