UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has officially recognized its Campus Ambassadors as an official Student Activity Unit (UKM). The inauguration, led by Rector Prof. Noorhaidi Hasan and marked by the symbolic striking of a gong, took place during the Grand Final of Campus Ambassador 2025 on Saturday (October 18, 2025) at the university’s Convention Hall.

In his remarks, Prof. Noorhaidi emphasized that the program is “not merely a competition but creativity that inspires”, positioning the ambassadors as prototypes of the ideal UIN student — intelligent, confident, and globally minded. He praised the finalists’ mastery of multiple languages and their strong contribution to promoting the university through digital platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

“Through the Campus Ambassadors, the public encounters the first impression of UIN Sunan Kalijaga as a leading and globally engaged university,” he said.

Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Abdur Rozaki, highlighted that the community fosters collaboration, academic excellence, and creativity — values that define future-ready graduates.

“When intelligence meets imagination, independence naturally follows,” he noted.

From hundreds of applicants, 20 finalists reached the grand final after a multi-stage selection process. The judging panel included figures from academia and the creative industry, underscoring the program’s interdisciplinary spirit.

The night culminated with the crowning of the 2025 Campus Ambassador, symbolizing not just recognition but the entrusted mission to embody and represent the values of UIN Sunan Kalijaga on a broader stage. (humassk)
