UIN Sunan Kalijaga Strengthens Global Competitiveness in 2025

YOGYAKARTA, Indonesia — January 6, 2026 — Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta continues to strengthen its global competitiveness after successfully meeting all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs throughout 2025.

Rector Prof. Noorhaidi Hasan delivered the update during a University Senate Meeting, highlighting major achievements including the expansion of international accreditation, curriculum reform through Outcome-Based Education, and growing international collaboration.

In 2025, four study programs earned ASIIN accreditation, adding to 18 internationally accredited programs by FIBAA, while 24 additional programs entered the ACQUIN accreditation process. The university also admitted international students from multiple countries and prepared new global partnerships, including a planned collaboration with Monash University.

Institutional reputation also improved through strong performances in global and national rankings, alongside strengthened governance, financial accountability, and ongoing development of the Faculty of Medicine.

“These achievements reflect our collective commitment to academic excellence, transparency, and global engagement,” Prof. Noorhaidi said.
