YOGYAKARTA — UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta moved closer to opening its Medical
Faculty after hosting a national field evaluation for the proposed
Undergraduate Medical Program and Medical Professional Education Program
on March 11, 2026.
The hybrid evaluation brought together
regulators, medical education experts, and academic partners to assess the
university’s readiness in curriculum design, faculty resources, and teaching
facilities.
The session was attended by Rector Prof.
Noorhaidi Hasan, university leaders, and prospective medical
faculty members, alongside evaluators including Prof. Dr. dr. Haerani Rasyid,
Dr. dr.
Fen Tih, and Deny Kurniawan, M.T., Ph.D. from the
Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology. LLDIKTI Region V Yogyakarta
was represented by Tego Sudarto, S.E., M.M.
UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s academic hospital partners
also took part in the process, led by RSUP dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro as the
main teaching hospital, supported by several affiliated hospitals and community
health centers.
Rector Prof. Noorhaidi Hasan described the
planned Medical Faculty as a strategic step in the university’s academic
transformation toward a research-oriented institution contributing to
science and society.
The proposed program integrates medical science
with Islamic values, spirituality, and humanitarian ethics,
while emphasizing preventive and promotive musculoskeletal health, particularly for the
elderly.
The
evaluation marks a key stage in the university’s effort to establish a medical
faculty aimed at strengthening health education,
research, and community engagement.
