UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Strengthens Global Position with ASIIN International Accreditation
UIN Sunan
Kalijaga continues to enhance its international reputation by undergoing the Cluster
A (Biology and Chemistry) accreditation process on February 26-27, 2025, with
ASIIN, a leading accreditation body from Germany specializing in science and
technology. Following the previous evaluation of Cluster B (Mathematics and
Physics), this comprehensive assessment marks another milestone in the
university’s journey toward becoming a world-class institution.
In
response to this initiative, Prof. Dr. Eva Latipah, Head of the Quality
Assurance Institute (LPM) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, highlighted the strategic
significance of this on-site visit in realizing the university’s vision of
academic excellence and global recognition.
“This
process aligns with our 2025 accreditation development plan, which includes
four ASIIN visitations, the submission of 13 study programs for ACQUIN
accreditation, and various national and international re-accreditations,” she explained.
Meanwhile,
Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Noorhaidi Hasan, Ph.D., emphasized that
this achievement is more than just a formality—it is a transformative step
towards establishing world-class academic standards.
“UIN
Sunan Kalijaga is not only striving for global recognition but also aims to be
a key player in the international education ecosystem. The ASIIN accreditation
is proof of our commitment to producing graduates who are globally competitive,
whether in industry, academia, or international research. We will continue
expanding global collaborations and integrating research-based education that
aligns with global demands,” he stated.
The
accreditation process, conducted on February 26–27, 2025, involved an in-depth
evaluation of: Curriculum structure and its alignment with global academic
standards. Teaching effectiveness and its impact on student learning outcomes. Study
program relevance to the needs of the global industry. Conducting laboratory
and learning facilities inspection to ensure the university’s readiness to
provide a high-quality academic ecosystem.
Beyond
academic assessment, this accreditation strengthens UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s global
networking, expands international academic opportunities for students, and
fosters the development of technology-driven, innovation-based education.
With ASIIN-accredited
study programs, UIN Sunan Kalijaga students will gain broader access to
international exchange programs, global scholarships, and career opportunities
with multinational companies. Graduates will also enjoy greater recognition in
the global job market, paving the way for stronger international career prospects.
Moreover,
this accreditation milestone further reinforces UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s
transformation into a university that not only meets global standards but
actively shapes the future of knowledge through the integration of Islam and
science on an international scale.
ASIIN
accreditation is more than just a certification—it is a significant leap
forward in positioning UIN Sunan Kalijaga as a globally recognized center of
academic excellence. As the university continues to innovate, collaborate, and
expand its global presence, this achievement marks another step towards becoming
a leading institution in the international academic landscape.
