SUKA Auto Show 2025 is not just another automotive exhibition. It is a bold statement from UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta—an affirmation of its commitment to a green economy and a sustainable future.
Taking
place on the front lawn of the university’s Faculty of Medicine from 2 to 13
June 2025, the event presents a wide array of environmentally friendly
vehicles. Leading automotive brands such as Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi,
Daihatsu, Suzuki, Wuling, BYD, Chery, and BAIC showcase their latest electric
and hybrid models, fully aligning with the momentum of global energy
transition.
In his
opening remarks, UIN Rector Prof. Noorhaidi Hasan stated that the event is more
than a display of automotive innovation.
“The SUKA Auto Show reflects UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s active role in addressing
global issues—renewable energy, environmental responsibility, and sustainable
development,” he said.
As a
university operating under the Public Service Agency (BLU) model, UIN Sunan
Kalijaga enjoys flexibility in financial management. The Auto Show stands as a
tangible example of how academic institutions can build productive partnerships
that benefit both the academic community and society at large.
The event
is a collaborative effort between the UIN Business Development Center, Bank
Mandiri (Yogyakarta Area), and Mandiri Tunas Finance.
Diki, a representative from Bank Mandiri, expressed appreciation for UIN’s
openness to collaboration. “This is more than an exhibition. We are providing
access, education, and green vehicle opportunities for the campus community,”
he said.
Special
financing packages were offered, featuring low interest rates, flexible
installments, and tailored schemes for students.
Dony from Mandiri Tunas Finance emphasized the importance of engaging students
with green mobility. “We want UIN students to not only learn about sustainable
technology but also access it directly through affordable financing,” he noted.
Beyond
commercial value, SUKA Auto Show 2025 reflects the university’s alignment with
global sustainability goals. Promoting low-emission vehicles is a concrete step
in reducing carbon footprints and supporting a healthier, more sustainable
living environment.
This
initiative also supports Indonesia’s commitment to the Sustainable Development
Goals, particularly:
SDG 13:
Climate Action
By reducing carbon emissions from transportation, eco-friendly vehicles help
mitigate climate change and support net-zero targets.
The event
was met with enthusiastic participation. Lecturers, staff, and students showed
great interest in the test drive sessions, impressed by the silence and
efficiency of electric vehicles being tested on campus grounds.
UIN Sunan
Kalijaga continues to prove itself as a university driven by vision and action.
A vision that goes beyond academic rhetoric—manifested through innovation,
responsiveness, and commitment to a better future.
From the
heart of the Faculty of Medicine lawn, UIN takes a meaningful green step
forward—one that not only educates but inspires transformation from campus to
community, from ideas to impact.
