UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has once again strengthened its international reputation. Four undergraduate study programs at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics, have successfully secured an extension of their International ASIIN Accreditation (Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics), valid through September 30, 2030.
This achievement stands as evidence of UIN Sunan
Kalijaga's success in maintaining internationally recognized standards of
higher education quality while further strengthening the institution's
competitiveness on the global stage.
The accreditation extension was issued by the
ASIIN Accreditation Commission, headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany. For the
Mathematics and Physics study programs, the decision was finalized during the
ASIIN Accreditation Commission's plenary meeting on June 26, 2026. Meanwhile,
the Biology and Chemistry study programs received their final decisions after
successfully fulfilling all requirements set by ASIIN. The official updated
certificates were received by UIN Sunan Kalijaga on July 14, 2026.
The accreditation extension was granted for the
maximum possible duration, running through September 30, 2030. This outcome
demonstrates that all four study programs meet international standards across a
range of aspects, including study program governance, learning-outcome-based
curricula, the quality of human resources, the teaching and learning process,
research, and a sustainable quality assurance system.
The success of these four study programs further
strengthens the position of the Faculty of Science and Technology as one of the
faculties with international recognition in the basic sciences. ASIIN
accreditation also serves as recognition of the quality of educational
provision in line with global standards, thereby increasing the confidence of
academic partners, industry, and the public in UIN Sunan Kalijaga graduates.
This achievement further adds to UIN Sunan
Kalijaga's list of international accomplishments in strengthening the quality
of higher education. Recognition from ASIIN is an indicator that the
educational processes within the Faculty of Science and Technology meet
international standards and are capable of producing graduates who are
competitive on the global stage.
With the success of the Biology, Chemistry,
Mathematics, and Physics study programs in maintaining International ASIIN
Accreditation through 2030, UIN Sunan Kalijaga further affirms its commitment
to achieving higher education that is excellent, internationally reputable, and
oriented toward continuous quality improvement. (humassk)
