UIN Sunan Kalijaga Hosts Training of Trainers to Elevate Graduate Education


Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta held a strategic Training of Trainers (TOT) program designed to enhance teaching methodologies for new Master’s (S2) and Doctoral (S3) students. The two-day event, conducted on January 22 and 23, 2024, at the PAU Meeting Hall, brought together Program Chairs, Secretaries, and faculty members from graduate programs.

The initiative aims to deepen educators' understanding of effective teaching strategies tailored to the unique needs of higher education students.

The TOT was officially opened by UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Istiningsih, M.Pd., who highlighted the significance of collaboration in creating a dynamic and innovative learning environment for graduate students. “Through this program, we hope to strengthen research-based and innovation-driven teaching strategies, which are essential for advancing the quality of education at UIN Sunan Kalijaga,” said Prof. Istiningsih.

Renowned speakers such as Prof. Chasmini, M.Ag., Dr. Adib Sofia, M.A., Dr. Hisyam Zaini, M.A., and Dr. Diah Ajeng Purwani, S.Sos., M.Si., led the sessions, addressing critical topics including research-based teaching methods, curriculum management, and strategies for guiding students in completing their theses and dissertations.

The TOT marks a pivotal step toward structured and high-quality education for incoming graduate students. Organized by UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s Center for Training and Development (CTSD), the program also serves as preparation for the upcoming Learning Socialization, scheduled for February 6–7, 2024.

This initiative underscores UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s commitment to excellence in education and its aspiration to shine on both national and international stages.
