Dr. Andi Holilulloh, Head of the Master’s Program in Arabic Language and Literature at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, served as keynote speaker at the International Conference on Arabic Language Studies hosted by Universiti Islam Selangor (UIS).

In his talk, “Arabic Language Studies in Indonesia: Between Continuity and Renewal,” Dr. Andi discussed how Indonesia’s Arabic education is evolving—from classical traditions to modern, responsive methods. He emphasized that combining heritage with pedagogical innovation is key to strengthening Arabic learning in universities.

He also highlighted Indonesia’s growing role in shaping global Arabic scholarship through curriculum development, publications, and international collaboration.

Dr. Andi’s presence was a proud moment for UIN Sunan Kalijaga, underscoring Indonesia’s strategic place in the field. The event is expected to spark future collaboration between UIN Sunan Kalijaga and UIS in research, joint publications, and academic exchange.
