Holilulloh, S.Pd.I., M.A., MCE. Who is expert in Arabic language and literature
and head of the Master's program in Arabic language and literature at Faculty
of Adab and Cultural Sciences, State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga
Yogyakarta, has been honored to be the keynote speaker at the International
Conference on Arabic Language Studies organized by the Islamic University of
Selangor (UIS) in Malaysia.
This prestigious conference was held on
Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the main campus of the Islamic University of
Selangor, from 08:30 to 17:00 on Malaysia time. Attended by academics,
researchers, and practitioners of the Arabic language from various countries
such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Nigeria, Egypt, and Morocco, this event has become
an important forum for promoting scientific networks and international
cooperation in the field of Arabic studies.
In his speech entitled “The Study of Arabic
in Indonesia: Between Continuity and Renewal,” Dr. Andi Holilulloh addresses
the development of Arabic language studies in Indonesia. He discusses the
transition from the classical tradition to a modern approach adapted to the
needs of the times. According to Dr. Andi Holilulloh, cooperation between
traditional methodologies and educational innovations is very important for
strengthening Arabic language education in higher education institutions.
In addition, he also pointed out Indonesia's active role in the scientific discourse of contemporary Arabic, including contributions to curricula, scientific publishing, and cooperation between countries. Dr. Andi Holilulloh 's presence as a keynote speaker is a source of pride for Sunakali Islamic University and at the same time strengthens Indonesia's strategic position in the global academic competition for the Arabic language. It is hoped that this event will be a starting point for strengthening cooperation between the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga and the Islamic University of Selangor, particularly in the areas of joint research and publishing, as well as the exchange of professors and students.
